FINCA IXOBEL

After we left Flores, we headed for Rio Dulce. On the bus, after passing their sign, however, we decided to spend some time at the Finca Ixobel. Anyone who visits Guatemala I recommend to visit here. It is great place either to relax or to take advantage of the activities they offer.

One thing they have at the Finca Ixobel is parrots.
Parrots aren't that friendly...

We spent Monday on their 'river cave' expedition, which was going through a cave that has a river running through it. They also offer 4 day treks jungle, river tubing, and horse-back riding. We met a lot of really cool backpackers, mostly from Europe, and exchanged stories and information on other places to visit in Central America. We could easily have spent the remainder of our vacation here. We stayed in one of the treehouses they offer.

The Finca Ixobel has it's own web site which can be reached here. It explains a lot more about the Finca and what they offers.
